The University of Northern Colorado’s Asian Pacific American Student Services would be honored if you could join us in a celebration of Asian Pacific American history, an exploration of how Asian Pacific Americans have shaped our nation. Beginning January 29th, the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) will be hosting the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition “I Want the Wide American Earth: An Asian Pacific American Story.” While this first of its kind exhibition is in Colorado, the University will be sponsoring events which explore Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) history, issues of identity and intersectionality, and the unique contributions of the AAPI community to America.
On February 2nd, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM the University of Northern Colorado will be hosting an opening ceremony for this exhibit at the James Michener UNC library, located on 14th Avenue & 20th Street in Greeley, Colorado. We will be featuring local AAPI artists, advocates, and scholars to highlight the exceptional contributions of the AAPI community to Colorado’s history. Join us in this inaugural celebration of the AAPI community and honoring their stories.
